1 Peter 5:7
Casting Your Cares
Verse
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Thought
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Peter writes this to people under real pressure. Not as a pious tip, but as a New Covenant reality.
Casting your cares does not mean ignoring them. It means no longer treating them as your guide. You have a Father who provides. Not because you believe hard enough, but because he is faithful. Your standing does not change with your mood.
Today you can name your worries and consciously hand them over. Not as a ritual, but as trust that grows from sonship.
Truth & Application
Truth: Casting your cares is not a sign of weakness but of trust. In the New Covenant you are not alone with what burdens you. God carries what you were never meant to carry.
Today practically: Write down one specific worry today. Then say aloud: "Father, this belongs to you." And leave it there.
Question for you: Which worry are you still carrying yourself, even though your Father wants to carry it?
Prayer
Father, thank you for caring for me. Not only when I get everything right, but now. Today I cast my worries on you. I release inner pressure and the need to control. Holy Spirit, remind me that I am carried. Amen.
