Track 4. The wilderness. In biblical thinking, not negatively charged, but a place of encounter. Israel 40 years. Moses 40 years before the burning bush. Elijah 40 days. Yeshua 40 days.
Hebrew midbar (מִדְבָּר), wilderness. The root is related to dabar (דָבָר, word, to speak). In the wilderness, God speaks. Where outer noise is missing, the inner voice becomes audible.
Hosea 2:14: "Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably to her." In the Hebrew original: v'davarti al-libah, "and I will speak to her heart". Wilderness = where God speaks to the heart.
Mike's instrumental wilderness does not sound desolate. It sounds still with Spirit-substance. Whoever hears the track in a wilderness phase is accompanied, not appeased. Mike's sound carries this fruitful stillness.
