Lyrics

The sunlight breaks through the cloudy days And I can feel all the weight just fade A brand-new rhythm in my veins Telling me it’s time to walk away Every breath is setting me more free And the heaviness is falling piece by piece from me So light, like I’m floating higher So light, I just wanna keep on moving Leave the shadows lying, they don’t belong to me So light, that’s how I feel with you No turning back to the cages I’ve known I’ve learned the way to break every door And with every step that I now take I’m finding the path to the truest light Every breath is setting me more free And the heaviness is falling piece by piece from me So light, like I’m floating higher So light, I just wanna keep on moving Leave the shadows lying, they don’t belong to me So light, that’s how I feel with you And when the wind carries me I forget what’s been I don’t hold on tight ’Cause I know I’m right here And when the rain starts to fall I still remain free ’Cause in your light Every single fear just leaves me So light, like I’m floating higher So light, I just wanna keep on moving Leave the shadows lying, they don’t belong to me So light, that’s how I feel with you So light, like I’m floating higher So light, I just wanna keep on moving I’m carrying new life, deep inside of me So light, that’s how I feel with you

About this song

John 1:5: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." In the Greek original: phaínei present tense (shines) and katélaben aorist (has not overcome).

Mike's track title "The Light Remains" is the confession of this constancy. The light remains. Period. Not "comes back", it remains.

The word "remain" has a particular dignity. It is not "to continue" (that would be "continue"), it is "remains", with the undertone of steadiness, reliability.

In the Gospel of John, ménō (μένω, to remain) is a key term. It appears 40+ times. Yeshua remains in the Father. The sons remain in the Son. The word remains in the sons. Remaining, as a way of life.

Mike's track is confession: the light remains. Even when darkness surrounds you. Even when you do not feel it. The light is not a flickering phenomenon. It is constant reality. Mike's sound carries this constancy statement.
