Prayer of Gratitude (Eph 1:3)

Original Prayer

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.

Context (Old Covenant)

Word of Paul (Eph 1:3), central New Covenant statement: in Christ everything is already given. Foundation of true gratitude.

What it teaches

Praise; focus on spiritual blessings.

Realization in the New Covenant

Ephesians 1:3 is one of the strongest New Covenant statements: You are ALREADY blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing.

  • Not "please bless me", but: "Thank you, I AM blessed"
  • In Christ: Chosen, accepted, redeemed, sealed (Eph 1:4-14)
  • Gratitude in the New Covenant is not politeness, it is an expression of faith. You declare what God has done.
  • From lack to fullness. From request to thanks. That is the New Covenant shift.

Prayer in the New Covenant

Praised be you, Father: You have blessed me in Christ with every spiritual blessing. I receive your grace today, know my identity, and live in joy. Thank you that everything is already there. Amen.
