Thoughts within the New Covenant

Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. Not the end in the sense of abolition, but in the sense of goal and fulfillment. The law pointed to Christ, and in him it is fulfilled.

That means righteousness no longer comes through keeping the law but through faith. Whoever believes in Christ is righteous. Not partially, not on probation, righteous. That is the core of the New Covenant.

Today you can receive the righteousness that comes from faith.

Truth & Application

Truth: Christ is the fulfillment of the law. Righteousness now comes through faith, not through rule-keeping. Whoever believes is righteous, completely, not on probation.

Today practically: If you feel today that you must first perform something to be righteous, remember: Christ is the end of the law. Faith is enough.

Question for you: Where are you still relying on law-keeping instead of faith?

Prayer

Father, thank you that Christ has fulfilled the law. Thank you that I am righteous through faith. Today I receive this righteousness. I release the attempt to be righteous through the law. Holy Spirit, anchor me in faith. Amen.
