Hebrews 10:22
Free Access to God
Verse
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience.
Thought
The book of Hebrews invites you: Draw near. Not hesitantly, not on tiptoes, but with full assurance. Your heart is sprinkled clean, your conscience is purified. This is not wishful thinking; this is your standing in the New Covenant.
Many live as if they need to become worthy enough to approach God. But the exact opposite is true: Christ has cleared the way. The veil is torn. You need no mediator other than Christ himself.
Today you can draw near just as you are, because your access doesn't depend on how your day is going.
Truth & Application
Truth: Your access to God is secured through Christ. You don't need to get better first before drawing near. The veil is torn, the conscience is cleansed, and you are invited to come with full assurance.
Today practically: Talk to God today without preparing yourself first. Just come as you are. He doesn't expect you with accusations but with open arms.
Question for you: Where are you still keeping distance from God even though access has long been open?
Prayer
Father, thank you that the way to you is open. Thank you that I can come with full assurance without having to prove myself first. Today I draw near just as I am. I let go of the guilty conscience that tries to keep me at a distance. Holy Spirit, let me experience the Father's nearness as real today. Amen.
