Sanctuary is in biblical thinking the place of encounter with God. In Hebrew miqdash (מִקְדָּשׁ), from the stem qadash (holy). Holy place.
In the New Covenant the sanctuary is no longer a building, but the son's body (1 Corinthians 6:19). But also outer sanctuaries still have their meaning, as places of conscious encounter.
Mike's track title "The Winter Sanctuary" points to the sanctuary that is especially accessible in winter. When the outer world becomes still, the inner sanctuary becomes audible.
Mike's instrumental track is musical sanctuary. It offers space for the encounter without forcing it. Whoever hears the track in their own stillness enters the winter sanctuary. Mike's sound carries this English holy stillness as worship element.
