Lyrics

I see the people with their Sunday smile Shirts pressed neat shoes shining in style But by Monday they're cursing again Like it was all just a short pretend I don't need a stage or a spotlight glow Cause real faith shines where the weekdays go Not just for Sundays I want you every day Even when the world goes crazy I will stay Not just for Sundays you're my reason to run From Monday to Monday I want you in the sun No holy look just for the hour of prayer No hallelujah with no heart in there I want to find you in the city noise When no one claps and no one lifts their voice I don't need a church bell or a Sunday call You're with me through it all Not just for Sundays I want you every day Even when the world goes crazy I will stay Not just for Sundays you're my reason to run From Monday to Monday I want you in the sun And when Friday comes and it all falls down I know you'll still keep me around Not a weekend God you are here each day And that's all I need come what may Not just for Sundays I want you every day Even when the world goes crazy I will stay Not just for Sundays you're my reason to run From Monday to Monday I want you in the sun

About this song

The greatest pathology of Western Christianity: compartmentalization. Religion in one slot, Sunday morning.

1 Corinthians 10:31: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Everything. Even eating. Even drinking. Sonship is not segmented.

Mike's track title "Not Just for Sundays" is a call to life integration. There is the phenomenon of the "Sunday Christian", someone who is religious only on Sunday and lives secular the rest of the week.

Mike critiques this division. Sunday is not Christian life, it is the gathering of Christians. Christian life is 24/7. Whoever does not understand this has Christianity as hobby, not as identity.

Yeshua said (John 5:17): "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working." The Father works daily. The son works daily. There is no Sabbath break from being a son. Mike's sound carries this integration as a call to 7-day sonship.
