Luke 15:1-2: "Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Yeshua. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, 'This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.'"
Mike's track title "In the Dirt" points to Yeshua's life position. He was not in the religious bubble. He was in the dirt, with the people who were considered unclean.
The word "dirt" carries a specific meaning. It is not only filth, it is also "grit", the struggle of real life. Country songs and blues songs often celebrate the "dirt road" life, the real life beyond the front yard and cleanliness.
Yeshua's mission was in the dirt. He ate with sinners. He touched lepers. He spoke with Samaritan women. That was scandal to the Pharisees, and exactly what the world needed.
Mike's track is a call to world-readiness. Sonship is not cage Christianity. It is in-the-dirt Christianity, with the people who need help, there where real life happens. Mike's sound carries this movement into the world.
