Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his."
Mike's track title "In His Rest" closes the album. Sabbath-rest, the Hebrew sabbatismòs (σαββατισμός). It is not a day, it is a way of life.
Matthew 11:28-29: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
The word "rest" here is not only sleep, not only break. It is rest, deep, substantial stillness. Augustine wrote his famous line: "Our heart is restless until it finds rest in You."
Mike's track is the closing word of the homecoming album. In His Rest, that is the goal. Not to arrive and then restlessly continue. But: to arrive and live in the rest. Mike's sound carries this life rest as the album's closing bracket.
