Nature & Creation

Creation speaks, if you're quiet enough to listen. And what it tells is greater than any sermon.

When was the last time you were outside, really outside? Not on the way to the car, not jogging with headphones, but simply outside, marveling, still? Creation has something to say. And it is worth listening.

Creation as Witness

"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims the work of his hands."

, Psalm 19:1

David looks up and sees not chance, he sees design. In a world that explains everything, wonder is a lost art. But wonder is the beginning of worship.

📖 The Biblical Line

First Mention: Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." The first thing the Bible says about God: He is Creator. Nature is his first word.

Genesis 1:6–8, "Let there be a firmament [Raqia, רקיע]." Something solid, hammered, spread out.
Genesis 1:14–17, "God set them IN the firmament." Sun, moon, stars, in/on the solid expanse.
Psalm 19:1, "The heavens declare the glory of God."
Job 12:7–10, "Ask the beasts, and they will teach you."
Romans 1:20, "God’s invisible attributes have been clearly perceived in the things made."
Colossians 1:16–17, "In him all things hold together."

The line: Whoever sees nature sees the Creator. No textbook needed.

Biblical Cosmology, What Scripture REALLY Says

The Firmament (Raqia)

The Hebrew Raqia (רקיע) from raqa, "to hammer, to beat out." Something solid. Not atmosphere.

"Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."

, Genesis 1:6

Waters ABOVE, waters below. Job 37:18: "Hard as a cast metal mirror."

Sun, Moon, Stars, Set IN the Firmament

"God made the two great lights… and set them in the firmament."

, Genesis 1:16–17

"Set them in", not "hurled them billions of light-years away."

The Earth, Firmly Established

"He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved."

, Psalm 104:5

And Joshua 10:12–13, the SUN stood still. Not the earth stopped spinning. The most detailed astronomical account in the Old Testament.

Ever thought about this?

Scripture describes a closed system under the firmament, not a ball in a vacuum. This does not need to unsettle you, it should invite you to look more closely. Not to believe blindly, but to examine for yourself.

God’s Invisible Nature, Visible in Creation

"For his invisible attributes… have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse."

, Romans 1:20

Creation IS proof. Every tree, every mountain, every sunrise is a business card. God made creation as TESTIMONY. It speaks. Daily. Without words.

Nature and the Soul

Jesus withdrew into nature, to mountains, by lakes, into gardens. Creation is the first temple. Before there was a tabernacle, God met man in the garden. "He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." (Psalm 23:2–3)

Responsibility for Creation

The Hebrew kabash (כבש) and radah (רדה) mean "to manage," "to tend", like a gardener, not a conqueror. Genesis 2:15: "to work it and keep it." Treating creation well is part of your mandate as a son.

Go Outside, Just Like That

You do not need the Alps. A walk in the park is enough. Open your eyes. Feel the wind. Creation speaks, quietly, steadily, beautifully. And it is waiting for you to listen.

The Truth About Creation

God’s invisible nature is recognized through creation (Rom 1:20). The firmament (Raqia) is something solid. The earth is firmly established. Sun and moon are lights ON the expanse. A closed system, designed by a Creator who knows what he is doing.

Every tree is a business card. Every sunrise an invitation. Creation speaks, without words. And what it says is: "Someone was at work here. And he is good."
