My child, gratitude is not an obligation - it is a window through which light falls into your heart. When you consciously notice what is good today, your perspective shifts. In Christ there is always something worth being thankful for, even in the hardest times. Do not give thanks for the pain, but give thanks in the midst of pain for my closeness. I am there even in the dark, and my light will never go out.
