Prayer for Peace in Conflicts (Rom 12:18)

If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Context (Old Covenant)

Word of Paul (Rom 12:18), New Covenant: peace as fruit of the Spirit, but always in the realm of what is possible.

What it teaches

Seeking peace; responsibility; boundaries.

Realization in the New Covenant

Paul says realistically: "as far as it depends on you" (Rom 12:18). You cannot solve every conflict but you can do your part.

  • ›In the New Covenant you have the Spirit of peace (Gal 5:22).
  • ›Seeking peace does not mean avoiding conflict but combining truth and love. Setting boundaries does not contradict peace.

Prayer in the New Covenant

Father, in Christ I receive wisdom for this conflict. Let me combine truth and love. Strengthen me to seek peace and to set clear boundaries. Amen.
