Father, we bring you our pain and our loss.

Thank you that death has lost its sting in Christ.

Comfort the bereaved, hold them in your love.

Give us hope that goes beyond this life.

Amen.

Realization in the New Covenant

In the New Covenant we do not grieve without hope (1 Thess 4:13). The resurrection is reality, not wishful thinking.

›Grief is human and allowed, but it does not have the last word. God's nearness in grief is not a pious phrase but reality: the Spirit dwells in you and comforts.
