The law of the Spirit of life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Paul describes not a wish here but an accomplished fact. You have been set free, not: you will be someday.
There are days when old patterns scream loudly. Guilt feelings come without cause. But you live under a new law: that of the Spirit who gives life. The old system has no right over you anymore. The cross settled the account.
Today you can treat this as a completed reality, not as a hope for the future.
Truth & Application
Truth: You live under a new law, that of the Spirit. The old system of sin and death has lost its right over you. Christ did not partially free you but completely.
Today practically: If a groundless guilt feeling comes today, say clearly: "I live under the law of the Spirit. The old has no right anymore." Then breathe and move on.
Question for you: Where are you still reacting as if the old system still applied?
Prayer
Father, thank you that the law of the Spirit has set me free. Thank you that sin and death have no right over me anymore. Today I live from this freedom. I release old guilt patterns and inner condemnation. Holy Spirit, make this freedom real to me today. Amen.
