Philippians 1:6

Rest and Trust

Verse

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Thought

He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion. Paul speaks a deep assurance here: what God begins, he finishes. You are not responsible for the completion. He is.

Rest arises when you realize: you do not have to complete the work yourself. God began. God completes. Your part is to let yourself be led and walk along.

Today: he began. He completes. You may trust and participate without the pressure of managing it all alone.

Truth & Application

Truth: God completes what he began. You are not the project manager of your spiritual life. He is. And he brings it to completion, reliably and faithfully.

Practical today: Where you feel pressure to manage everything yourself today, remember: He began. He completes. Let go and trust the process.

Question for you: Where are you trying to complete God's work in you by yourself?

Prayer

Father, thank you for completing what you began. I am not the project manager. You are. Today I trust your timing and your way. I release the pressure of having to manage everything myself. Holy Spirit, lead me in patience and trust. Amen.
