1 Peter 2:24
Love Instead of Fear
Verse
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
Thought
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. Peter describes the cross as a completed work.
You do not have to carry your sins yourself. He carried them. You do not have to heal yourself. By his wounds you are healed. This is love that acts, not just feels.
Fear says: you have to manage it yourself. Love says: it is done. Live from it now.
Truth & Application
Truth: Jesus bore your sins on the cross and by his wounds you have been healed. You do not need to carry or heal any of it yourself. The work is accomplished.
Practical today: When you try to carry something alone today, remember: he has already carried it. Let go and receive healing.
Question for you: What are you trying to carry alone today that Jesus already bore at the cross?
Prayer
Father, thank you that Jesus bore my sins. By his wounds I am healed. Today I release what I tried to carry myself. I receive his finished work. Holy Spirit, remind me today: it is finished. Amen.
