Hebrews 7:25
Righteousness as a Gift
Verse
Therefore he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
Thought
He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. This verse shows the permanence of the New Covenant. It is not a contract that can expire. Jesus lives and intercedes for you, now and permanently.
Righteousness here is not something you must earn anew daily. It stands because the one who accomplished it lives. Your standing does not depend on your stability but on his.
When you waver today, remember: he does not waver. And he intercedes for you, not against you.
Truth & Application
Truth: Your salvation is permanent because Jesus permanently lives and intercedes for you. You do not need to be saved anew every day. The New Covenant is sealed once for all.
Practical today: When doubts about your standing arise, counter them: He lives and intercedes for me. Then move on without questioning yourself.
Question for you: Where are you still treating your salvation as uncertain, even though it is permanent?
Prayer
Father, thank you that Jesus lives and intercedes for me. My salvation is permanent. Today I trust that my standing is secure. I release doubts about my salvation. Holy Spirit, strengthen me in this certainty. Amen.
