Abiding in Love

Verse

God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Thought

God is love. Not: God has love. He IS love. Whoever abides in love abides in God. That is the simplest description of spiritual life: Stay in love. Then you stay in God.

Truth & Application

Truth: Abiding in God's love is not effort but a decision. You stay by receiving. His love flows; you open yourself.

Today practically: Open yourself consciously to God's love today. Let it flow. Stay in it.

Prayer

Father, thank you that you are love. Today I abide in your love. I receive what you give. I let go of hardness and closed-offness. Holy Spirit, keep me in love. Amen.
