Romans 6:23

Freedom from Accusation

Verse

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Thought

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Paul contrasts two things: wages and gift. Sin pays death, but God gives life. As a gift, not as earnings.

Accusation works with the first part: "You deserve death." But the New Covenant answers with the second: "You have eternal life, as a gift." No accusation can undo a gift from God.

Today you may receive the gift and release the accusation.

Truth & Application

Truth: Romans 6:23 contrasts wages and gift. Sin pays, but God gives. Eternal life is not earnings but God's free gift. No accusation can undo a gift from God.

Today practical: When accusation says "You deserve punishment" today, respond: "God's gift is eternal life. That is a gift, not wages."

Question for you: Where are you still treating eternal life as something you must earn?

Prayer

Father, thank You that eternal life is Your gift, not wages, not earnings, but a pure gift. Today I receive this gift anew. I release every accusation that says I deserve punishment. Holy Spirit, establish me today in the freedom of this gift. Amen.
